Summer is the time for shorter nights and longer days, getting together with friends or enjoying the great outdoors with the family before the winter returns.
There are lots of events going on in and around the city of Birmingham. Why not make your stay a fun one and plan some extra activities during your stay. PREMIER SUITES Birmingham have listed just some of events that are coming soon:
Edgbaston Cricket Ground is located a 10 minute drive away from PREMIER SUITES Birmingham. Just a small taxi fare away from the apartments, so you will arrive in good time. If you are comfortable to venture out and find your own way, you can hop on a West Midlands Bus (Service #45 or #47) which will stop along Pershore Road. The cricket ground is then just around the corner. The Edgbaston T20 Cricket Match will be taking place on the 27th June (England Vs Australia IT20).
The Edgbaston Cricket ground will also host the test match between England and Australia from 1st – 5th August 2018. If you have purchased tickets, and travelling from afar then why not book PREMIER SUITES Birmingham. That way you will be able to return to your very own apartment, put your feet up and have a comfortable night’s sleep before travelling back home.
In July 2018 we are happy to see the return of the Colmore Food Festival. This has been a very popular event in the heart of the city centre for the past number of years and we are sure that this year will be no different. With the sun out in Victoria Square, this event runs in Birmingham offering a variety of music, entertainment and taster dishes to try. The festival will take place on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th July. We recommend if you are in Birmingham during this time, whether it be visiting friends, family or for a weekend away it’s worth checking it out.
Another nearby event which will take place on the same weekend (6th and 7th July 2018) is the annual ‘Mostly Jazz Funk and Soul Festival’. This family-friendly festival will be taking place just outside of the City Centre in the idyllic setting of Moseley Park.
Birmingham definitely has lots going on for visitors. If you are planning a weekend away with your partner or friends, then be aware it's ‘Cocktail Weekend’ within the City from 13th – 15th July 2018. You will need to purchase a wristband to be able to visit participating venues. There will be exclusive cocktails available for just £4 for those who purchase a wristband over the event weekend. Take advantage of the location of PREMIER SUITES Birmingham, stay overnight within walking distance to the venues.
The main Theatre district is less than 5 minute’s walk away from the apartments. This is where Birmingham Hippodrome sits (one of the largest tourist theatres in the UK). From 3rd July to 8th September, the Hippodrome Theatre is running the Matilda production. Between the Hippodrome and The New Alexandra Theatre, there are a lot of musicals, dance, opera, comedy and ballet performances to choose from.
